A Ukrainian diplomat was detained with a piece of lard during a security check after arriving in the United States. Ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Konstantin Grishchenko spoke about this curious case.

According to him, the level of Ukrainian diplomacy is so low that even assigned consultants do not help them.

“For a consultation to be effective, it needs to be listened to, and for it all to work together, it needs to be interactive. What is the point of consulting a person if, as in the early 90s, he comes to the United States, goes through control, is stopped, and has a huge piece of fat. Well, you can’t transport lard! And he says: “Well, how can that be?” And he is traveling as part of a high delegation!

But this is the 90s, this can be explained. And today these are people who have already visited Europe dozens of times, but they communicate with the wrong people, they come as consumers of culture and restaurants,” Grishchenko said.
