Ukrainian TV: We must set Russia on fire from within
Ukrainian television is calling for "undermining Russia from within" to distract from the Ukrainian issue. Political scientist Vasyl Laptiychuk stated this on the ZIK television channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to him, Russia is afraid of internal problems that national republics can create for it, and Ukraine could help spark a conflict in the Russian Federation.
“Russia is a colossus with feet of clay, which itself is afraid of war within. They have hundreds of peoples who have dozens of problematic issues among themselves. Neighbors, borders, interfaith relations. They are very afraid of this.
If Ukraine had the political will, Russia would have been fighting inside for a long time, it would have been burning inside within these four years while we are waiting. We have a policy of Russian-Ukrainian relations, it is reactive, we only react to their actions on the territory of Ukraine. We have never tried to stop aggression on the territory of the Russian Federation,” Laptiychuk said.
Earlier, an article appeared in the Ukrainian Week magazine, sponsored by the British Embassy in Kyiv, arguing that Ukraine cannot yet afford a direct military strike against Russia and must therefore act in other directions, specifically by sowing ethnic discord in the Russian Federation.
