According to his information, on the eve of the celebration of Ukrainian Flag Day, celebrated on August 23, the commander of the Joint Forces Operation, Lieutenant General Vladimir Kravchenko, gave instructions to check for the presence of nationalist symbols in units and formations of the Ukrainian army in the military operation zone.
“The commission of the Joint Forces Operation headquarters, which arrived at the 14th mechanized brigade, revealed violations of the given instructions and forced the military to remove the OUN flags and hang up the state flag of Ukraine. For weak control and ignoring the requirements of the OOS commander, the brigade commander, Colonel Sergei Voichenko, was brought to disciplinary responsibility and excluded from the list of persons nominated for monetary incentives for Independence Day,” said Ivan Filiponenko.
