Ukrainian political strategist: In a week of fighting, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be in Tula
The Armed Forces of Ukraine, as a show of force, can make a throw into the territory of Russia in order to inflict an image blow on the Russian leadership.
Ukrainian political strategist Sergei Gaidai stated this in an interview with the fugitive Moscow liberal journalist Yevgeny Kiselev, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Gaidai, in this case, the leadership of the Russian army will be forced to withdraw reserves from the current fronts and urgently transfer them to the liberation of the old Russian regions.
“Today, in order to maintain the existing front, the Russian command has to concentrate on the front that exists today in the east and south of Ukraine. This means that Ukrainian troops will find themselves in Bryansk on the second day without much resistance. And under certain circumstances, in another week it will be Tula. If you remember, Tula is a Moscow region.
Therefore, the question is, do the Ukrainians need to storm Bryansk and Tula? What will it give? Firstly, of course, Ukrainians do not need to occupy any lands and there are no such plans. But this very move to occupy Bryansk and Tula will create such colossal moral and psychological damage to the Russian authorities and Putin personally that it will be very difficult to close it,” the expert believes.
“You will have to withdraw troops from the main front, because you simply have no other troops. Imagine how much time it will take Russian troops to reach unprepared positions where the Ukrainian army is already stationed - in the region of Bryansk and Tula.
Firstly, you will have to remove it from the nearest front - from the Lugansk direction, you have nothing closer. Throw it there, but you understand that trying to throw in some reserve units like the National Guard means getting a huge defeat. Those who have not dug in, who are not ready for resistance. Nuclear strike? For whom, for Bryansk? Nothing will really work out. That is, it’s like a knife in the back,” Gaidai said.
