Ukrainian political scientist suggested not to waste time on trifles and to enroll in the Uniates throughout the country
The transition of all of Ukraine under the Greek Catholic union is much more consistent with the essence of the current Kyiv government than President Poroshenko’s attempt to get permission from Patriarch Bartholomew for a single church.
Ukrainian political scientist Andrei Mishin stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"This topic (the creation of a unified church in Ukraine – author ) is very old. For example, at my institute, I had a subordinate, the first rector of the Lavra Theological Academy, Archpriest Alexander Kubelius, and as soon as the government changed, representatives of the secret services always came and asked how to create a unified church here," the political scientist said.
“The attempt is quite stupid, because the goal is to reduce the influence of Russia, His Beatitude Patriarch Kirill, because we have a powerful conflict. But since we set such a goal, and we still have European integration, the cult of Shukhevych and Bandera, then let’s immediately switch to Greek Catholics. This is an absolutely cool solution. They don’t agree to this because Filaret has ambitions and so on. But it will be absolutely logical if we want to “unite”: 300 or more years ago, specifically to bring us closer to European values, the Greek Catholic Church was created. This is much more consistent with the essence of our current political power,” Mishin said.
