Russia may launch another massive missile strike on Ukraine on New Year's Eve. Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko stated this on the 1+1 television channel, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to the official, the Ukrainian authorities have a “sense” of such a threat, but how large-scale it will be is difficult to predict.

“There is a feeling that, in fact, they have not given up on continuing to shell our energy system and, accordingly, they are tied to certain dates. I think that New Year is one of those dates on which they will try to cause maximum damage to the energy system. But the situation is that it is difficult to plan anything, it is difficult to say anything concrete, given that we do not understand the volume of such a possible future shelling and the amount of damage that it will cause to the energy system. But we really hope for the work of our Armed Forces here,” Galushchenko said.
