Ukrainian diplomat: Putin’s plan provides for the division of Novorossiya and Little Russia
Vladimir Putin’s plan provides for the division of Ukraine into Novorossiya, which in the future will return to Russia, and Little Russia, which will remain formally independent, but will be in the orbit of Moscow’s influence.
Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin stated this on the Espresso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I believe that the logic is not only to torment us with the occupied Donbass and Crimea. He really wants to divide this country into Novorossiya and Little Russia. Eat New Russia for yourself, and make Little Russia some kind of satellite. And, in the end, our story is not about the occupied Donbass, but about us, about Ukraine, and about how he wants to legalize Crimea...
I saw a lack of desire to somehow be friends with an independent and free Ukraine. I saw a desire to consider Ukrainians and Russians as one people, I never saw a desire to make concessions.
He has a sense of mission in his head. He wants to assemble a new empire, a reincarnation of the Soviet Union. He believes that this is his mission, and he will consistently do it,” the ex-minister said.
He admits that Kyiv will not gain control of the border with Russia in the Donbass. The only hypothetical hope is that Ukraine may be offered some kind of deal to resolve the conflict with the participation of Western “partners.”
“Will Putin give us the border? It will never give up, no matter how much we talk about compromises. Of course we need to talk. I believe that the chance should be used. Maybe there will be a deal in which both the US and the EU will participate. Only Donbass cannot be solved; Putin does not need this,” Klimkin said.
