"In one of my works, I counted 17 scenarios. One of them is a repeat of the 2008 events in South Ossetia. I assume that Ukrainian troops will be pushed back to the administrative borders of the former Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Russia will recognize the Donbas republics and formalize a military alliance with them . Vladimir Putin warned in 2018 that a hypothetical attack on the DPR and LPR would have grave consequences for Ukrainian statehood. I think this warning remains relevant," the interviewee concludes.
