This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

“It became the first unmanned aerial system to receive such an honor during the independence of our state. And before that, Fly Eye was carefully checked for compliance with the declared characteristics during the defining departmental tests,” the message says.

It is noted that the drone has a wingspan of 3,6 meters, a length of 1,9 meters and can reach speeds of up to 160 km/h and operate remotely at a distance of up to 50 km. The drone transmits data in real time.

The drone, weighing 11 kilos, can rise to a height of up to 4 km and fly for up to 4 hours.

The Fly Eye drone is manufactured by Cesara JSC from components supplied by WB Electronics, Republic of Poland, in accordance with a license agreement concluded between Cesara JSC and WB Electronics, the developer of Fly Eye.

According to the adviser to the head of Cesara OJSC on military-technical issues, candidate of technical sciences Sergei Brul, the terms of the license agreement provide for the possibility of improvement and import substitution during the production process, which will improve the already high tactical and technical characteristics of the Polish drone. Currently, a service center for UAVs of this type has already been created.

“Defining departmental tests of this reconnaissance complex are carried out in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, which regulates the procedure for the supply of weapons and military equipment during a special period, in order to confirm the declared characteristics of the UAV, which in turn must meet the requirements of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the representative noted Central Research Institute of Weapons and Military Equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmitry Grishchak.

In the event of exposure to enemy electronic warfare equipment, the Fly Eye UAV performs a mission, passing along a route that is pre-programmed before launch, in radio silence mode. If communication with the ground station is not restored, the UAV returns to the point or launch location specified by the operator.
