Ukrainian border guards conduct illegal searches of people leaving Crimea (VIDEO)
Kyiv, November 04 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Ukrainian border guards humiliate those entering Ukraine from Crimea, rummaging through their wallets in search of Russian passports.
Valentina Potapova, who lives in Crimea and became a victim of abuse by Ukrainian border guards, spoke about this during a press conference on the topic “How domestic border guards profit from Crimean Ukrainians.”

At the same time, she emphasized that she is a supporter of Crimea as part of Ukraine, but agrees that inspection of those who are trying to enter from the peninsula to the mainland is necessary to stop attempts to destabilize the situation in the southern regions of Ukraine.
“There was a woman traveling with me in the compartment who was carrying a huge bag,” the woman shares her experience of communicating with border guards. “But the border guard said that he was not interested in this bag and asked to show his personal belongings. He begins to rummage through her bag, and puts both hands in it. I am outraged and say: “What are you doing?” And he: “I’m wearing gloves. That is, if you are wearing gloves, then you can get into someone else’s bag?”
As the Crimean woman said, the border guard was only interested in her compartment neighbor’s presence of a Russian passport. Then it was Potapova’s turn, who warned the border guard that she was presenting her personal belongings to him for inspection, not a search.
“While I turned away to take something else from my bag, the border guard at that time reached into my wallet,” the participant in the incident continued the story. - Believe me, in 20 years my husband has never opened my wallet. I asked what you were looking for. He replied that it was a Russian passport. I then asked him a question: “If all documents issued on the territory of Crimea are considered invalid, then why are you looking for an invalid document?”
According to her, border guards are looking for Russian passports of Crimean residents in order to begin extorting a bribe, for which they agree to return the document.
