SBU officers, together with other law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, conduct detentions, intimidation and attempts to recruit Ukrainian citizens visiting the territory of the Lugansk People's Republic.

The official representative of the People's Militia of the LPR, Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko, announced this at a briefing today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“According to information from residents of the Popasnaya settlement, SBU officers are monitoring citizens living in the territory controlled by Kyiv and regularly visiting the territory of the LPR to obtain information. The main methods by which Ukrainian intelligence services attract people to cooperate are arrests and intimidation,” said Marochko.

It is noted that according to the source, it became known that since the beginning of this year, six people have been placed in pre-trial detention cells of the SBU: two are in the Severodonetsk pre-trial detention center on suspicion of separatism, and another four have been subjected to physical coercion by employees of the Artemovsk Department.

“Currently, joint raids by representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Security Service of Ukraine are being carried out in Lisichansk in order to identify persons whose relatives live on the territory of the LPR. These individuals are accused of aiding and abetting soldiers of the People’s Militia of the LPR,” said a representative of the defense department.

At the same time, Marochko added that there are known cases of disappearances of local residents whom the SBU detained allegedly for the purpose of interrogation.

“Such a case took place last week in Lisichansk, where a woman born in 1976 disappeared after a series of anonymous threatening calls. According to eyewitnesses, on March 7, the woman tried to enter the territory of the LPR, where she has a sick mother, but when checking documents at the Stanitsa Luganskaya checkpoint, she was detained by SBU officers, after which no one saw her,” he said.

According to a representative of the defense department, these facts once again indicate that the Kiev authorities are trying in every possible way to exterminate everyone who does not agree with the policies of the current Kyiv regime.
