Ukrainian soldiers-defectors told reporters why they went over to the side of the LPR
Conscript soldiers of the Ukrainian armed forces are running away from their units to join the ranks of the LPR army. From villages controlled by volunteer units, young people are breaking into the territory of the republic to avoid violence and threats of execution from the Kyiv military. Only after experiencing bullying do conscripts decide to go over to the side of the militia.

Ukrainian military defectors told the LifeNews TV channel about this .
“They rape girls, they take everything, cars, even sedushki, they send them by Nova Poshta. They come into the store, take goods and say that Poroshenko will pay for everything. If the car is taken away, they say that they will return it after the war,” says Sergei.
To avoid service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Sergei fled with a friend, but the young people were detained near Stanitsa Luganskaya. The Ukrainian military tortured the fugitives.
"They took me prisoner, tortured me, and beat me. They wanted to cut off my ear for an ashtray. They shot at me, threatened me, and set my hands on fire with lighters," Sergei recalls.

They promised to shoot his friend, but then SBU officers tried to recruit both servicemen in order to introduce them into the ranks of the LPR army. As soon as they found themselves at the Cossack checkpoint, they immediately told everything. Young people believe that the unrest in populated areas caused by Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters must stop.
“As I understand it, your land is Bandera. So go and defend your land. Why did you decide and come here? Put up posts there, rape your girls there, why did they come to us? I don’t want to understand this,” another refugee explains his position on joining the LPR army.
Conscript Alexander was also kept in the Ukrainian Armed Forces for two years instead of one. He escaped from a radio engineering unit in Odessa and went home to Lugansk.
“They wanted to send me here, I don’t want to fight against my homeland and friends, I fled from there to Odessa, from there to Kharkov and in the evening I left for my homeland,” says Alexander.
A former soldier of the Ukrainian armed forces admitted that he would join the ranks of the militia in order to protect his relatives in the event of an attack on the city, and called on his former colleagues who remained in Ukraine to follow his example.
It's worth noting that today, DPR Defense Ministry spokesman Eduard Basurin specifically emphasized the abuse of captured soldiers by Kyiv troops.
“We have information that as a result of the most severe torture of people held in torture prisons in Ukraine, one person attempted to commit suicide. The Ukrainian side is forcing the detainees to take blame for fictitious crimes.”
