Ukrainian media lament: the population still sympathizes with Russia
“Kremlin propaganda” is part of the consciousness of a significant part of Ukrainians. Oleg Pokalchuk, who calls himself a social psychologist, writes about this in the Ukrainian weekly “Zerkalo Nedeli”.

“The Kremlin’s information garbage has dotted our information landscape with such heaps of lies that they began to be perceived as naturally as the Carpathians. They began to walk children along these hills and plant “beetroot”, so the good stuff wouldn’t go to waste. Maidan and the war did not change people’s consciousness, as many romantics think,” writes Pokalchuk.
He explains this “zrada” by the fact that “all these years, the Ukrainian economy has been tied as closely as possible to the barrier.”
“It may turn out that this information component of the Kremlin is so firmly and deeply rooted in Ukrainian socio-economic mechanisms that it will be impossible to stop feeding it without affecting the pocket interests of pocket friends. By the way, this also applies to pocket opponents, maybe even to a greater extent. When they terrorize your opponent, and at the same time you receive money simply for silence - this is our way,” writes Pokalchuk.
