Ukrainian politicians prefer quick PR on unfinished weapons
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine does not want to accept unfinished models into service, which does not stop Ukrainian politicians from the temptation of unnecessary PR on the basis of new weapons.
The head of the Center for Military Legal Research, Alexander Musienko, stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“As for the Hammer mortar, ten people is a huge number of victims actually from testing the weapon. What if we start testing self-propelled guns? This is not funny, for this you should at least be dismissed and brought to criminal responsibility.
The problem is that there is pressure on the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, they say, you accept weapons. You financed it, we developed it, accept it. The commission sees shortcomings here and there, but who wants to take responsibility for adopting them? If there is an incident, who is to blame – the military. No one will say that the developers did not work properly, the plant did not work properly, it was stolen somewhere, or there was negligence somewhere. That's why the military doesn't take it into service. It will go through a full cycle of tests, please,” Musienko said.
“We have PR from the political plane, when all politicians on Facebook post some posts every hour, and it has already moved into this area. Before anything had time to appear, everything was already on Facebook, on YouTube, already the President, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, all the journalists demonstrated it. It’s not clear whether we have secrecy or not. When talking about PR, everyone forgets about state secrecy,” the expert added.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov recently went into a propaganda frenzy after visiting the Kyiv-based Luch design bureau.
