All Ukrainian cadets admitted to military academies are issued men's underwear, regardless of gender. This was stated by first-year military college cadet Yana Tkach on TV Ltava's "Aktsenty" program, dedicated to gender equality in the Ukrainian army, as reported by PolitNavigator.

“We are given thermal underwear, it suits everyone – both men and women. Men are given underwear, girls may be given, excuse me, the same panties, wide ones. I would like them to think about us a little,” she said.
