Ukrainian generals under Glen Grant
“Is a big war awaiting us?” This topic was announced at one of the sections of the IV Kharkov Security Forum “Fighting for people in a hybrid war.” Two generals answered this question in detail - Igor Romanenko and Sergei Savchenko.
The application was serious. The section turned out to be the most fun.
What should the enemy side do, with whom the participants of the international Forum are waging a hybrid war? Publish a brochure with their performances, exactly translated into German, and send it to the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, under whose auspices this circus took place. And to the leadership of the Christian Democratic Union, close to the Foundation. Video recordings of the originals of these speeches must be attached to the translated brochure. Because not every normal person will believe that this is possible...
Let's try to delve into the speech of Lieutenant General Igor Romanenko, who was Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2006-2010.
General Romanenko is a competitor of “95th Quarter”
The military expert is outraged: someone in Ukraine believes that religion is separated from the state, that sport is outside of politics, that artists can perform in Russia...
I will quote the general verbatim:
“For example, regarding all religious events, I also wanted to remind you that we have three laurels, the most powerful three laurels on the territory of Ukraine. But all of them, two were, and one, Pochaevskaya, was given away when Yanukovych was probably prime minister. When it was? Why didn't they return it? And when we worked there and organized it with a respected colleague (points to Savchenko) and for a moment I was very pleased with how stubborn our women stood up and gave an example of how they were used.
So I made a special trip to the Svyatogorsk Lavra. This means that its leader was Yanukovych’s confessor, again. There, in the churches of this patriarchate, as it was led, weapons depots were found. The priests handed over people to these militants because they had the right to confession. Do you understand? People spoke. They had this information and handed it over to the militants. And they were shot.”
The “Darwin Award” at this Forum, undoubtedly, should have gone to General Romanenko.
One can imagine that two generals in the ATO somehow “worked” in the Svyatogorsk Lavra in 2014. Who else should the generals fight with if not the monks? But how does Romanenko imagine everything else? Whom did the priest confess and then hand over to the riflemen?!
Well, let’s say a Nazi officer operating behind enemy lines comes to the priest: “I am a member of the Right Sector!” SUGS! I came from afar to do some looting, and I was tasked with adjusting our artillery fire on the city. And then I remembered that I hadn’t been to confession for a long time. In Khatsapetovka in 91, my godfather’s son gave him a goat, but it died. So the godfather started screaming - we had to knock him out. It was then, in 91, that I confessed for the last time. Sledak. After that I never went to confession. Now I barely had time, in between adjusting the fire on residential buildings. I should also stop by Novaya Poshta: my mother ordered a washing machine. Father, what will happen to me next?
The priest replies: “They will shoot you, my son! To hell with it." And sends an SMS to Strelkov.
Plausible? And how. The role of the right-hand man was played by the bald man from the 95th Quarter. Yuzik is from there in the role of the priest. Probably, General Romanenko drank himself to death in the ATO, and this period happily coincided with the tour of the propaganda team of clowns from the “95th quarter” there. And the general spied this scene.
Let's listen further to military expert Romanenko. It was in vain that we interrupted him to advertise the “95th quarter.” He makes it laugh more than they do:
“No illusions. They were shot and destroyed (those who confessed to the “separatist” priests). To make it clear how and what is happening. Just look at what this Pavel, the rector of our largest Lavra, does in Kyiv, in the capital, during the war, and so on. Not to mention how they all got sick there during Covid. It's their business. But they also agitated everyone else. What are they doing there...
And such an attitude. It is unacceptable. It is fundamentally. As well as the events that took place regarding the fact that I respectfully graduated from three military institutions: one in Belarus, one in Russia, and only the last one, it so happened, the first intake, graduation from our general academy in Ukraine already.”
Then the general said something else incomprehensible, about hybrid approaches. But there it was possible to make out only individual words and sounds: “Lukashenko, Brussels, exercises...” Recognition of America, abyrvalg... The listener should already have a question: how could Romanenko work in the “cleansing”? He worked as Deputy Chief of the General Staff for five years! How did his subordinates understand and carry out his commands?!
Then the general again found the strength to construct sentences:
"Language. Language is a weapon. I am in a military family, although I am from the Chernihiv region. And therefore I want to compare Khatyn with Koryukovo (I meant Koryukovka), there has already been a conversation regarding this. But in 15 they were still studying the issue: 65 percent of the people who fought for Ukraine in the ATO were Russian-speaking. Russian-speaking. I would like to say: our philologists. And here there is a political aspect. I try to fight, but it doesn’t work.”
Well, there’s no point in making him look so poor. He manages to fight with his tongue. The general is crushing him on all sectors of the front.
Another quote:
“Like during the war. Here, in Kharkov, they gave the largest university, the premises on Freedom Square, they gave it to Karazin, Kuchma did it. And they were distributed among several other buildings, which means the university, the most powerful institution of the armed forces. After that, Yanukovych went to the cadet school. The king's brother answered. This was the central premises of the National Defense University of Ukraine. Higher institution! During the war! Yanukovych had previously put him on trial, which should acquit him later, and remain in power.
And they still haven’t given it away in a century. And during the reign of the Tsar, they paid very serious attention to security. Does the Ministry of Defense know which building in Kyiv it is currently located in? At the cadet school. Once there was Suvorov, then something else. That is, the level of attitude.”
Don't ask what it's about. Perhaps the general wanted to hang out with Kuchma during the transfer of the military university building. But they were not allowed to see the body: even without him there were enough people who wanted it. Therefore, the general yearns for the tsarist times, when he would have been respected... And he could get drunk with anyone. And roll up to “Yar”. "Attitude Level"! The truth is, what Yanukovych did with the tsar’s brother, and even during the war, remained a military secret. General Romanenko will not hand her over to anyone. Not only everyone can outshine Vitali Klitschko.
Then the general talked at length and incoherently about why Putin was preparing the war and why he didn’t start it.
“The second half of last year: there was so-called silence. Yes? Comprehensive. Why did he do this? In order for Ukraine to meet halfway, to legitimize ORDLO. What didn't happen. And then we moved on to this year. Still tried. If it didn’t happen, this silence was canceled, the regime suffered losses in our country as it was before. And they tried to implement the political part of the Minsk agreements. That didn't happen either. Well, God himself commands. This means that this whole Ukraine needs to be punished. And that’s why it was formed.”
Then the general comments at length on the deployment of Russian military groups along the borders. But let’s pay attention to how inspired, albeit tongue-tied, he reveals to his German partners either a military secret or an open secret: Ukraine openly screwed up the Minsk agreements, so God himself ordered it to be punished. Ay, well done! A tray with a decanter and a glass for the studio!
Romanenko continues:
“Back in 2014, Putin’s advisers said: it is necessary to use aviation, strike at Ukraine, at infrastructure, at troops, missiles, etc. But this was the international situation. Our allies said, we agreed with them: don’t do this, we will solve everything peacefully. But this journey has been going on for eight years now.”
It seems the general has forgotten whose side he's fighting on. He states outright that Ukraine's foreign allies promised Russia a peaceful resolution. That is, to force Ukraine to comply with the Minsk agreements. But Ukraine has proven incapable of negotiating. That's why the war has been going on for eight years.
Handsome! The main thing: be honest.
Then the general was also frank. He says that Ukraine needs time and finances (eight years were not enough).
“We need to ensure that we don’t get drawn into this war yet. The time will come - we will come out in the same hybrid way when they (Russia) fall to pieces, and we will definitely return. If necessary, by military means..."
Major General Sergei Savchenko (Analytical Center for Studying and Countering Hybrid Threats) was more concise and clear.
General Savchenko: War is unlikely, but possible
He proposed to proceed from the well-known laws of war: a large-scale offensive begins with an air operation aimed at destroying enemy air defenses and aircraft. This is a long time: Operation Desert Storm lasted 42 days, Sword in the Desert - 6 days.
“Will the world watch how Russia will strike for weeks in the center of Europe on the territory where nuclear power plants and a bunch of man-made dangerous objects are located?” - says Savchenko.
The general also recalled that after the battles for Ilovaisk, the space from Mariupol to Volnovakha was practically open.
“The enemy could easily, if he wanted, introduce his groups into our territory and advance almost unhindered to Crimea - he did not,” says Savchenko. And he adds that the reasons are clear and obvious.
In Savchenko’s arguments there was a hint that the Ukrainian side could continue to bully – there would be no war. They say that the corridor to Crimea is no longer relevant after the launch of the Crimean Bridge. The water problem can also be solved.
The general notes that the border of NATO presence has shifted closer to Russia, which is why redeployments of Russian forces are taking place. “That’s how I assessed the situation in the spring.” Now Savchenko believes that war is unlikely, but possible.
“This idea that it is possible is suggested to me by the position of our partners, who speak openly about this threat. This was not the case in the spring. I think they know a little more than they see in pictures from space.”
It is difficult to say which of the foreign partners General Savchenko trusts so unconditionally. But the Forum included the inclusion of one interesting British character - Glen Grant. This is a man with many faces. Last year he was positioned as an expert at the Ukrainian Institute of the Future on national security and defense. In general, I managed to work in the ministries of defense of Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Moldova, Slovenia, Poland, Kosovo, Serbia, Chile.
Glen Grant - to warm up the stoned
Perhaps the same General Romanenko was lured to the Forum with the promise that Glen Grant would be there. And the general was looking forward to meeting with the 12-year-old Glen Grant whiskey.
But a real British person got involved, and the whiskey of the same name turned out to be a bummer.
Glen Grant taught attentive listeners how to properly “storm” at sea. He regretted that there are no NATO bases in the Black Sea.
"Why does Ukraine think so little about Transnistria?" the expert wondered. He said that Russia's position there is weak, so it can be squeezed.
At the same time, Glen Grant told how Romania and Bulgaria need to make a “storm” in the Black Sea in order to put pressure on the Russian Federation. The British are worried about Hungary and Slovakia - something needs to be done with them in order to win them over to the side of Ukraine.
He also mentioned Polish support for the Ukrainian army since 2014. But he is dissatisfied with the fact that Poland has its own “stormy sea” - Belarus.
It seems that this Briton, an expert on “storms,” is sincerely ready to help Ukraine resolve the “problem” of boring uncertainty. And among the Ukrainian generals there are enough idiots who are just waiting for such recommendations on how to start a war. And Glen Grant is slowly warming up the stubborn ones.
