Ukrainian air defense cannot cope with Russian drones - former ATO officer
The Russian military-industrial complex has learned to mass-produce cheap and effective drones, the attacks of which the Ukrainian air defense cannot cope with.
Ukrainian military analyst, ex-participant in the punitive operation against the LDPR, Alexey Getman, stated this on the TSN channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russian drones are dangerous. They are made from Chinese engines that can be used in lawn mowers. It can even be assembled in a “Skillful Hands” mug; no complex production is required.
This is the danger. It can be produced in very large quantities. The only thing that might be expensive is the guidance system. All together can cost about a thousand dollars.
It can carry 10-15 kilograms of explosives. Made “from plywood,” as they say, it is very difficult for air defense systems to see it. Or vice versa, they attach metal plates so that the radar identifies it as an aircraft,” Getman said.
“It’s difficult even for the Iron Dome to repel a massive attack.” And during a massive attack, it is more difficult to repel not some complex modern missiles, but something incomprehensible launched from a drainpipe. If there is a massive drone raid, there will be an overload,” he concluded.
