Ex-Automaidan militant, Ukrainian Armed Forces volunteer Yuri Kasyanov said this on air on the ZIK TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“People lived in this country for five years under the leadership of Pyotr Alekseevich, served under the leadership of the commander-in-chief, the supreme commander-in-chief, and other generals, and they were given a clear assessment, unequivocally. The question is different: what will Zelensky do? The question is not what the soldiers’ salary will be in five years - God forbid that Ukraine will be in war in five years, and what the colonels’ salary will be there - these are absolutely stupid things that Zelensky’s adviser says, and journalists ask these stupid things for no apparent reason,” Kasyanov said.
“The question is what the army will do. Will she liberate our territories, will she fight, or will she continue to rot in the trenches? It will continue to turn into a Soviet paper army or it will become modern - not necessarily NATO, there are Israeli standards.
We just need a strong army, which the enemy is afraid of, in which people go to serve, because this army is fighting, and they feel like men there who defend their country, and not just sit in the trenches and wait for something to fly at them and kill them. Because now war is actually a lottery, people sit there and wait, it will fly or not fly, it will kill or not kill, a sniper will shoot or something else. This is not a war of liberation; under these conditions the army is dying. We need to either stop this war and surrender, or liberate our territories,” the volunteer threw a tantrum.
At the same time, in his opinion, there is no point in waiting another five or ten years, since Ukraine will still never catch up with Russia in military power.
“This is impossible, it’s a turtle chasing a horse. Russia is bigger, stronger, but Russia needs to show its teeth. Only in this case can we liberate the territories and protect our sovereignty. That is, there must be some real steps.
If Zelensky, as he said before the elections, negotiates with Putin (in any case, he will have to negotiate someday, but we must negotiate on our terms), if he negotiates right now, then he will have to trade our territory, freedom, independence and sovereignty , and the army in these conditions is generally unimportant. The army is becoming a toy in the hands of politicians, who can be told that in five years this will be the salary or another salary, but no one needs a non-combatant army,” said Yuri Kasyanov.
