Ukraine doesn’t need Russian gas – because nothing works anymore

Ukraine may not buy gas from Russia, however, not because Kyiv has become independent, but because almost all of the country’s industrial enterprises have stopped working.

This opinion was expressed on air by the Majlis channel “ATR” by former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Yekhanurov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Then we consumed 77 billion cubic meters of gas, and now it’s a measly 35-36. The enterprises are all standing, the entire chemical industry is standing, metallurgy is standing, and a significant part of Donbass, to its credit, is not ours now. Thus, there is nothing good in the fact that our gas consumption has fallen so much,” the ex-official concluded.
