Ukrainians fought “like tigers” for a vote of no confidence in the head of PACE
The Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) expressed a vote of no confidence in the head of the assembly, Pedro Agramunt, because in March he, together with deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, at the invitation of the Speaker of the Syrian Parliament, visited this country and met with Bashar al-Assad.
Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashchenko claims that the Ukrainian delegation played a significant role in making this decision.

“I want to thank the Ukrainian delegation, which fought like tigers to uphold the principles of PACE. And of course, to the lion among tigers, Vladimir Ariev. His position at the bureau was clear and important,” Gerashchenko wrote on her Facebook page.
The “lion among tigers” himself also explained on Facebook why this vote of no confidence was so important for Ukrainians.
“I don’t think anyone here will want to deal with Russia now. Toxic,” Ariev wrote.
