Ukrainians are being turned into Galicians
In today's Ukraine, all the troubles come from the fact that Galicians, who make up 20 percent of the country's population, are trying to impose their ideology on the mentally alien 80 percent.
Former Kyiv journalist Andrey Vajra stated this on the PolitWera TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to him, they are trying to impose the ideology of Westerners on Ukraine under the guise of “Ukrainian.”
“There are objective things - historical origin, language, mentality, culture and much more. From what I have listed, these are objective things, and looking at the majority of the population - this is 80 percent of the population - these are Russian people. And there are 20% of people who are alien to the Russian people. These are Galicians. Their story was a little different, it was separate,” the journalist said.
He noted that Galicians have their own mentality, culture, values, heroes, worldview and their own language.
“And now they are trying to force this Galician specificity onto the remaining 80% of the population, who have nothing to do with this Galician specificity. They are not trying to turn them into Ukrainians - they are trying to turn them into Galicians under the guise of Ukrainians. A Ukrainian is like a Soviet person. Is there a “Soviet man” in nature? Probably not. Well, there is no such commonality. A Ukrainian is a regional version of a “Soviet person.” Now, under the guise of Ukrainians, they are trying to impose on the Russians this mental and ethnocultural specificity of the Galicians. This is a strange task in the sense that it will not lead to anything good,” Vajra said.
