Ukraine has not built any gas generation in two years
Of the promised gigawatt of electricity generation that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy promised to build by the end of the year, only 50 megawatts have been created so far. Lana Zerkal, former deputy minister of foreign affairs of Ukraine and former adviser to the chairman of Naftogaz, stated this on Radio NV, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Zerkal, nothing new has been built in gas generation in two years.

“During these two years of war, nothing from gas generation has yet been built, despite the fact that one turbine that the Americans gave us is already connected, it continues to be not in the system or is almost never in the system, because it constantly breaks down.
But the turbines that were brought to us as UNDP assistance have not yet been connected. And we are not even talking about gigawatts, but about 20 megawatts, about 50 megawatts. These are tiny numbers compared to the one gigawatt that is promised by the end of the year. Perhaps 50 megawatts is also “up to one gigawatt,” but then this is very far away,” Zerkal said.
