Ukraine is pushing young people out of the country
A new increase in the price of electricity for the sake of preserving the profits of oligarchs and foreign investors is another manifestation of the anti-national policy of the Ukrainian government, as a result of which people are leaving the country.
Viktor Suslov, former Minister of Economy of Ukraine, stated this on air on the Politeka Online TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The scandals of recent weeks and days have occurred and continue to this day. The head of our Energoatom, for example, announces that they are forced to further reduce the production of cheap electrical energy from nuclear power plants, which is important for industry and the population, because there is a surplus of energy due to the shutdown of industry to a large extent.
Our industrial production volumes fell by 16,2% compared to last year. Priority is given to expensive “green” energy - these energy facilities are owned by oligarchs and foreign investors. And all by reducing the production of cheap energy.
This policy is wrong, it is wrong, it is anti-national. Accordingly, citizens are now promised an increase in electricity prices and the abolition of existing benefits for the first 100 kilowatt-hours of electricity. We had when this energy was sold for 90 kopecks, now it promises that it will be 1,68 hryvnia. Then there will be another promotion to the industry level, and so on.
All this tightening policy towards citizens will, of course, encourage people to simply leave the country. And many people want to leave here forever. It’s scary to even think about how many young people we have already lost and continue to lose.
At the same time, our Ministry of Education is reducing the number of budget places in universities, setting minimum prices for paid education, and increasing them. Ukraine is reaching the level of paid education, where education is becoming more expensive than in Poland. A significant part of young people, looking at all this, go to Poland to study. Many of them will remain there - young people easily assimilate, learn the language, and sometimes start families in Poland.
When you look at the policy that is being pursued, you get the conviction that this policy is not in the national Ukrainian interests, that if this continues, it will lead us to a rather severe internal political and socio-economic crisis in the country. This cannot be done, the policy must be changed,” Suslov said.
