Ukraine demands that Western weapons be removed from combat duty and transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Western countries should not feed Ukraine with promises that they will one day transfer weapons to it, but today they should remove their equipment from combat duty and urgently send it to Ukraine.
This was stated on air by Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, on the 24 TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Podolyak, publications in the Western press with doubts about Ukraine’s success indicate that it urgently needs to transfer weapons, without making them wait until next year.
“This is being done in order to show Western communities that Ukraine needs specific, mathematically sound military assistance for each stage of the war. So that it doesn’t happen: “We’ll give you 150 tanks, that’s all, then you can liberate, for example, Kherson and, of course, Crimea as such.” No, Politico says that there are mathematically justified specific volumes of weapons that Ukraine needs.
At each stage you need a specific weapon. These are not only tanks, these are also extended-range missiles, because this is the only way to protect the tanks provided to us, and on the other hand, to significantly reduce the artillery capabilities of the Russian Federation. That is, reducing Russia’s key resource in this war is obvious,” the official said.
“If we want to carry out military campaigns, counter-offensive actions as effectively as possible, and de-occupy territories as effectively as possible, then Ukraine must receive everything it needs right here and now - not 2024 or 2025.
This means that there is no need to tie the construction of the national military-industrial complex to the war in Ukraine - we need to give everything that we have today. That is, reactivate it, if necessary, or even release it from combat duty. Because the stages of war are day by day, and not in a year, not in two, not in three,” Podolyak said.
