Ukraine will make a film about the “indestructibility and heroism” of its sailors during the Crimean spring
A propaganda film was made in Ukraine about the “exploits” of the minesweeper Cherkassy, which became the only Ukrainian Navy ship in Crimea that did not defect to Russia.
The Ukrainian Military Portal reports this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“This is a film about a Ukrainian mine defense ship, which was on the Crimean Lake Donuzlav during the Russian invasion of Crimea. The occupiers demanded that the Ukrainian sailors go over to the side of Russia, they refused and tried to escape from Donuzlav. The crew of this ship became an example of the courage and indestructibility of Ukrainians... It was the only one of 13 Ukrainian ships on which the Ukrainian flag was not lowered before the last sailor left the ship,” the message says.
Let us recall that in March 2014, the crew of the minesweeper “Cherkasy” made several unsuccessful attempts to leave the blocked Donuzlava bay, eventually running the ship aground. The ship was captured by Russian special forces within two hours, but no one was injured.
