Ukraine is the poorest, most corrupt country in the world - new Economy Minister Abramovichus
Kyiv, December 02 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Lithuanian Aivaras Abramovichus, who received a Ukrainian passport and was nominated for Minister of Economy, called Ukraine the poorest and most corrupt country in the world.
He said this while answering questions from Verkhovna Rada deputies before his appointment.
“Ukraine is the poorest, most corrupt country in the world. We need to act very quickly and harshly, using the most radical methods,” he said.

Abramovichus speaks Russian well, albeit with an accent. In his speech he used several Ukrainian words. Abramovichus clarified that he left Lithuania at the age of 17, and before that he worked at the investment company East Capital.
Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that the main task of the new minister is to “establish order in state-owned companies” and deregulation.
