Ukraine continues to mock the arrested journalist
The Russian Foreign Ministry demands that international organizations and human rights activists assess the arbitrariness that the Ukrainian authorities allow against the editor-in-chief of the RIA Novosti Ukraine news agency, Kirill Vyshinsky.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told reporters about this today.
“We emphasize that we are talking about a journalist who carried out his professional activities openly and on the basis of the relevant laws of the host country, with respect and full compliance with journalistic ethics,” Zakharova said.
According to her, citing the Ukrainian citizenship of the arrested person, the Ukrainian authorities refuse Russian consular officers to meet with him.

“The Russian Embassy in Ukraine and the Russian Consulate General in Odessa continue to constantly monitor the current situation and provide possible assistance to defense representatives,” Zakharova said.
As Politnavigator previously reported, on May 15, SBU officers broke into the office of RIA Novosti in Kyiv and conducted a search that lasted about eight hours. At the same time, Vyshinsky was detained in Kyiv. He is suspected of supporting the self-proclaimed republics of Donbass and treason. In July, a court in Kherson extended the arrest of Kirill Vyshinsky until September 13.
