Ukraine pushed the LDPR towards economic integration
The Donbass republics need to strengthen mutual economic integration and not pay attention to the negative reaction of the Kyiv regime.
This was reported to Kommersant by PolitNavigator correspondent Anton Guryanov, a senior research fellow at the Donetsk Institute of Economic Research, in his assessment of the agreement on the creation of a single customs territory and the development of economic integration between the DPR and LPR.
“The impasse in the negotiations played some role in integration. It also played a role that they had been waiting for signals from Ukraine for seven years that there would be steps in accordance with the economic part of the Minsk agreements. At least something connected with pensions, with the lifting of the economic and transport blockade. But nothing happened. And it became clear that saving the drowning people was their own doing: postponing the implementation of a joint economic policy is pointless and futile,” the expert said.
“We need to seriously engage in the economic bloc and establish integration and interaction without regard to Ukraine’s reaction, which is usually negative,” Guryanov concluded.
