Ukrainian economist Vsevolod Stepanyuk drew attention to this aspect of the so-called free trade agreement between the EU and Ukraine.

“In fact, there is a free trade zone only for the EU with Ukraine,” the economist emphasized. – Because the EU does not recognize Ukrainian standards. When a classic free trade zone is signed, there is at least mutual recognition of standards. Then this is truly a free trade zone. But in the case when you say that we can sell you everything produced by us freely, but everything produced by you that we don’t like, then you cannot sell it at all. The question is not even about duties, tariff settlement - you cannot sell this product at all. What kind of free trade zone is this?”
