Ukraine failed to fulfill its obligations to the IMF
Future personnel changes will primarily affect the economic bloc of the Ukrainian government, since it is it that is responsible for the failure to fulfill obligations to the IMF.
Viktor Suslov, former Minister of Economy of Ukraine, announced this on the air of the 112 Ukraine TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I think that the current topic is the renewal of the economic bloc. We don’t talk about this much, but it is of key importance, because Ukraine has not yet received a signed program with the IMF, has not received new loans from the IMF, as the IMF management has repeatedly emphasized, for one reason - due to the failure of the Ukrainian government to fulfill its obligations. That is, we did not fulfill our previous obligations. Someone should actually be held responsible for this. These people mainly represent the economic bloc.
Although I am not a fan of mindlessly implementing everything that the IMF recommends, a clear policy is simply needed here. You cannot sign up for obligations and not fulfill them, it is better to pursue an honest policy, to say that what the IMF proposes in this and that part is unacceptable, which means we need to negotiate and say what our policy is. But not having any economic policy and not fulfilling obligations already signed - this also cannot be done in a normal state,” Suslov said.
