Ukraine wants to hide behind American tomahawks
In Ukraine, NATO was declared the only hope that the Russian amphibious assault would not land in Odessa and Mariupol.
This was stated on the air of the UMN internet channel by Andrey Klimenko, an expert from the Maidan of Foreign Affairs who monitors maritime activity, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the expert, as long as NATO ships remain in the Black Sea, Ukraine is not afraid of “Russian aggression.”
“We have NATO ships in the Black Sea almost until the end of July. Now the Sea Breeze is underway, in a few more days there will be an American frigate, or rather, a guided missile destroyer with Tomahawk missiles. At the same time, the Breeze exercises are going on in Bulgaria, there are also six NATO ships there, and there are also powerful missile forces. We must understand that until we rebuild our Navy, our only hope at sea is the constant presence of NATO warships.
Since March 2014 they have been present every day. After Crimea, I always feel calm when there is a US or British or French missile frigate or missile destroyer - then we know that there will be no landing, there will be no landing, there will be no attack from the sea, because this is a very powerful element of deterrence,” – said Klimenko.
