Ukraine for Great Britain has become a “sword on the continent”
Ukraine has become a tool for Great Britain through which London is trying to regain its former geopolitical influence.
Israeli military expert Grigory Tamar, who instructed the Ukrainian Armed Forces, stated this on the Iton internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Tamar, London supports Kyiv not out of love for Ukraine, but in order to solve its own problems.
“Johnson is now putting Britain at the forefront. If we recall European history, Great Britain always, when they had acute political problems, they always chose states for themselves, which they called “the sword on the continent.” They chose some state that served their geopolitical interests militarily.
At certain stages it was Prussia, at certain stages it was the Russian Empire, different historical periods, but nevertheless, this term is known to military historians. So, it is quite possible that Great Britain has now decided that Ukraine will become such a “sword on the continent” for them. And therefore, they will support it consistently and comprehensively, not because they love Ukraine so much, but because they decided to revive for themselves the influence that they once had,” Tamar said.
