A VSU officer killed by fellow soldiers was declared a suicide
A Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman who died while protecting army property was presented by the command to the top brass as a suicide bomber.
Official representative of the operational command of the DPR Daniil Bezsonov announced this today during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In particular, he noted that there has been an increase in crimes in Ukrainian armed forces. The 35th Marine Brigade is confidently in the lead in the ranking of the unsatisfactory state of discipline.
“In the 18th battalion of the 35th brigade, not far from the village of Bogdanovka, another crime occurred, which the brigade command is trying to hide. Sailor Zaitsev, a serviceman of this battalion, who was guarding armored vehicles hidden in a forest belt, tried to stop the attempted theft of fuel by his colleagues. Two unidentified robbers resisted him and shot Zaitsev from his own machine gun, simulating suicide,” Bezsonov said.
He also added that during the investigation, the commander of the Palas brigade identified the true reasons for what happened, but chose to hide them from higher command.
“The command of the 35th brigade treated Zaitsev, who defended military property at the cost of his own life, as a suicide,” said a representative of the defense department.
