Such calculations were made at the so-called Institute of National Remembrance. A map of destruction was also created there.
“Over the course of three years, 15 Ukrainian monuments have been destroyed or desecrated in Poland. In Ukraine – 4 Polish ones, and all restored using Ukrainian funds. But in Poland – not a single one,” says a press release from the Institute of National Remembrance.
The Institute recalled that the demolition of the monument to UPA militants at the cemetery of the Polish village of Grushovichi near Przemysl, which took place on April 26, was authorized by local authorities and received approval in Warsaw.
In particular, as stated in a press release compiled, the head of the department of registration and preservation of memory sites of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, Pavel Podobed, said that the tombstone of UPA militants in Grushovichi was attacked 5 times: three times it was painted, subsequently damaged, and lastly once - destroyed.
“Each time the memorial sign was restored through the efforts of the Ukrainian community. In total, out of 15 Ukrainian monuments, 3 were destroyed, 5 were damaged and 7 were painted. The Polish side does not restore memorial signs of Ukrainians who were attacked. These acts of vandalism remain unexamined by Polish law enforcement agencies,” added the Ukrainian propagandist.
Let us remind you that on April 27 in Poland, at the cemetery in the village of Grushovichi near Przemysl, a tombstone for UPA militants was dismantled. Later, Poroshenko discussed with his Polish colleague Andrzej Duda the incident with the dismantling of the monument.
