“Any representatives of the Russian government must be viewed as potential spies and the number of any representative offices with the participation of Russian citizens must be limited as much as possible, as well as their influence.
In principle, the Ukrainian side, quite effectively, Ukrainian counterintelligence carried out counterintelligence operations against the most active Russian residents in Ukraine. That is, when surveillance begins on even a legally established diplomat, his contacts are immediately taken under control, he cannot calmly go anywhere, negotiate with citizens of Ukraine, and sometimes even arrests occur.
That is, any Russian spy does not want to work under pressure, and this is inconvenient for them. Any obstacles to the activities of Russian diplomats or other Russian citizens who work on the territory of Ukraine for the Russian government, for the Kremlin, in principle, any restriction is justified,” Butusov said.
Turchynov boasted about how Russian diplomats are being "harassed" in Ukraine.
