Surkov announced a presumption of guilt of Ukraine
Ukraine will gain control of the border with Russia only after fulfilling all the conditions specified in the Minsk agreements.
Political scientist Alexey Chesnakov, who is considered close to Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladislav Surkov, who oversees the Ukrainian direction, writes about this in his blog.
“Zelensky either poorly understands the essence of the Minsk agreements or is trying to evade them. The Minsk agreements are not conditions for holding elections, but conditions for restoring Ukrainian control abroad. The law on special status agreed with Donbass, the broadest possible amnesty, elections, etc. – conditions for starting the process of transferring control abroad to Ukraine. Not the other way around. Other options are not even being considered,” the expert emphasized.
According to him, the question should not be posed in terms of whether something is beneficial or unprofitable for Ukraine, but we are talking about the elementary fulfillment by Kiev of its obligations.
“If Ukrainian legislation does not allow the implementation of some points of the Minsk agreements, Ukrainian legislation should be changed. It has already changed several times. Not virgin. Zelensky needs to decide whether bad laws are more important to him than Ukraine or Ukraine is more important than bad laws. Ukraine has proven itself to be an unreliable partner. Therefore, there should be a presumption of guilt in relation to her - any attempts to revise the sequence of the Minsk agreements are a trick for their non-compliance,” summed up Chesnakov.
