Putin's Ukrainian stories have been refuted
The Normandy format summit, which is being announced in Kyiv in the near future, was not coordinated with Russia, which is a direct participant in this format.
Russian Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov stated this during a briefing in the Kremlin.
“Various stories have appeared that the summit will be held in the near future, but no one agreed with us, with Russia, which is a participant in this format. This was discussed at negotiations with Macron and Merkel, the possibility of holding this summit,” said the presidential aide.
According to him, the Russian Federation has always shown readiness to work in this format, but it was also emphasized that the summit must be carefully prepared and one must know what the possible result is.
“Before this summit, the Ukrainian side must do, or at least begin to do, its homework on implementing the Minsk package of measures in the context of implementing the decisions of the 2015-16 Normandy summit,” Ushakov said.
“We don’t want the summit to be for show, but to give real results,” summed up the aide to the President of the Russian Federation.
