The fact that ex-French President Sarkozy was detained today on suspicion of financial fraud means only one thing: Europe urgently needs to start fighting corruption and Putin’s agents.
This opinion was expressed in his blog by Verkhovna Rada deputy, member of the BPP faction Alexander Briginets, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Sarkozy, who, like some Ukrainians, was financed by Gaddafi, was detained in France. Now is the time to detain Putin's agent [former German Chancellor] Schröder. In the end, Europe also needs to start fighting corruption,” writes Briginets.
In turn, people's deputy from the BPP Vladimir Aryev also did not stand aside and asked whether a similar fate would befall Yulia Tymoshenko or not.
“Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy was taken into custody and interrogated due to violations of the financing of his election campaign, including due to a possible 50 million euros from the Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi. Recently, an Arabic publication wrote that Yulia Tymoshenko received 4 million euros in cash from Gaddafi. My colleagues and I made a request to NABU about this. Now we think – will they at least interrogate her?” the deputy asks in his blog.
