Poroshenko hopes that the criminal world will treat the new declarations with understanding
Many Ukrainian officials and deputies deliberately indicated higher amounts in their income declarations in order to legalize future income, writes Kommersant.

The publication notes that on October 31, the deadline for Ukrainian politicians and officials to submit electronic declarations of property expires, and the system introduced under pressure from the West assumes that officials will voluntarily describe all their own property, exposing their well-being to the public.
“This came as a shock to the Ukrainian political class,” the publication emphasizes. “Officials and parliamentarians spent a month preparing the documents correctly, with the help of specially attracted financiers, lawyers and political strategists.”
At the same time, informed sources of the newspaper said that “many took an unprecedented step: they indicated in their declarations more significant amounts than those that actually existed, in the hope of legalizing future income.”
In addition, the publication’s interlocutors complained that such a sensitive topic should not be made public, making it public knowledge.
“Such unprecedented frankness will create the ground for criminal offenses. Now everyone can find out not only who has what, but also at what address. We can only hope that the criminal world understands that the income in the declarations is considerably inflated in order to disguise future financial receipts,” a Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc admitted in an interview with Kommersant.
Poroshenko hopes the criminal world will be understanding of the new declarations.
