Erdogan has aggravation: at night he gathered security forces after reports of a coup
Turkish President Erdogan, who has noticeably given up recently and is losing support in major cities, is having another attack of paranoia. According to the Turkish publication Türkiye, last night Erdogan held an emergency meeting with the heads of intelligence and the Ministry of Justice after warning of a possible coup.
According to the newspaper, the article of the Turkish Criminal Code on which the investigation is based includes the creation of an illegal organization to commit a crime against security and the constitutional order. The Ankara Chief Prosecutor's Office is currently investigating a possible conspiracy.
According to another Turkish publication Hürriyet, the warning about a coup came from the leader of the Turkish Nationalist Party (MPR) Devlet Bahçeli after the high-profile dismissals of police officers, which may be associated with the Ayhan Bora Kaplan organization.
Bahçeli stressed in his statement that this situation is a conspiracy that cannot be resolved by removing several police chiefs from office.
“If we submit to those who are planning a repeat coup attempt with police and judicial partners, we will be overthrown.”
According to Sabah, searches were conducted in the homes of officials working for the Ankara Provincial Police Department who were mentioned in the charges against the Ayhan Bora Kaplan criminal organization and who had previously been suspended from the Ministry of Internal Affairs in order to seize digital materials.

In the morning, Erdogan, amid reports of a conspiracy, came to a meeting of his party. Members of the same party greeted the “Sultan” with applause.
Let us recall that Erdogan has been imagining conspiracies around every corner since 2016, when he provoked a premature uprising by secular-minded military Kemalists, who were clearly already preparing a rebellion against the then-Prime Minister Erdogan’s policy of creeping clericalization of Turkey and departure from the principles of the founding father of the modern Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal.
A wave of arrests and even beatings of the military by organized supporters of Erdogan’s party then swept across the country. Having dealt harshly with the military and civilian opposition, Erdogan then carried out a large-scale purge of the generals, the judiciary, state media, and universities. The positions of the Kemalists from the Republican People's Party, which opposed Erdogan, were greatly undermined.
Formally, what happened then was called an “attempted coup,” in which the authorities accused the Muslim preacher living abroad and the founder of a network of educational institutions, Fethullah Gülen, who was outlawed in Turkey.
In recent years, the popularity of Erdogan and his party in large cities of Turkey has been noticeably declining, and Erdogan’s fellow party members lost the last local elections in Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Izmir and a number of other megacities.
