Türkiye has announced its refusal to support Western sanctions against Russia over Crimea
Turkey does not support the Western sanctions policy towards the Russian Federation, which began after the reunification of Crimea with the Russian Federation.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stated this in an interview with the publication "Turkiye" , reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator".

According to him, Turkey cares, first of all, about its own economy, which also suffers due to sanctions against the Russian Federation.

“Türkiye has suffered a lot due to sanctions in the past. Sanctions against our neighbors, our partners, also caused serious damage to our economy. Therefore, when we hear “sanctions”, we are not in a hurry, we are looking for a solution to the problem in other ways. Therefore, we decided not to participate in sanctions against Russia. We have chosen the path of dialogue and constructive interaction. Today, as you can see, Russia and the United States are introducing sanctions against each other, the EU is considering sanctions... because US sanctions also affect the European Union. But we are trying to solve the problem through dialogue so as not to harm our economy,” Cavusoglu said.
