The leaders of the Ukrainian security forces announced the “successful execution” by the country’s Air Force of the test launches of medium-range guided missiles planned for today.

This was stated, in particular, by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Alexander Turchynov, after the end of the tests.
According to him, the missiles confirmed their combat characteristics and hit the target.
“The missile systems that were tested can reliably hit both air and surface targets,” he assured, emphasizing that the training and missile launches took place in accordance with the approved program. “That is, at exactly the planned time and in exactly the planned place,” he added. Although earlier there was information in the media that the changes were made out of fear of a backlash from the Russian Federation.
“For many years, Russian agents and corrupt leaders of the Ministry of Defense deliberately destroyed the air defense system of Ukraine. That is why these tests were very important, because this is a very serious step towards restoring the air defense of our country,” his personal website quotes Turchynov’s statement.
In turn, Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak reported to Poroshenko that the Ukrainian Air Force “as part of the military exercises launched in the Kherson region, fully completed the assigned tasks and successfully conducted training launches of 16 missiles.”
“Together with the Chief of the General Staff Viktor Muzhenko, we reported to the President of Ukraine, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, that 16 missiles had been launched. The plan of assigned tasks was completed, the firing was successful: all targets were hit. The exercises are over for today,” he clarified.
Poltorak added that the exercises will continue tomorrow, December 2.
