Political scientist Armen Gasparyan reported this in a comment to PolitNavigator. According to him, the fact that in the US budget for the next year aid to Ukraine was reduced by 70% reveals the lies of President Poroshenko, who assures his population of support from the United States.
“This should not surprise anyone. The United States has consistently moved towards this, fulfilling a number of election statements by Donald Trump, who said that it was completely unclear what the United States should do in this region. Rex Tillerson, before his visit to Moscow, made a rather sharp statement that he did not understand why American taxpayers should deal with the problems of Ukraine. For Kyiv, this is a significant moment, because it thereby shows that all of Poroshenko’s numerous statements that the alliance between the United States and Ukraine is more united than ever, that the entire American establishment supports the Kyiv government, turned out to be just another nonsense. This is what we have warned about many times,” Gasparyan said.
