Total dirt, homeless people and devastation. Report from the center of the victorious Maidan
The authorities of post-Maidan Ukraine do not get tired of talking about the civilizational choice that the country allegedly made in 2014. At the same time, Kyiv is not shy about calling it a “European city”.
However, as the correspondent of "PolitNavigator" was convinced, after walking around the center and adjacent areas of the "European capital", there are even more crumbling houses and homeless people in Kyiv than before.

With the onset of warm weather, the “traditional” homeless person at the exit of the metro station “Independence Square” disappeared. The passage is still dirty, but the homeless who hide in the winter from the cold in the passage are gone.

A lonely beggar sits on the square.

Perhaps the authorities dispersed the homeless so as not to spoil the "Days of Europe in Kyiv" - a propaganda event held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the city administration, which emphasizes the supposedly European identity of Ukraine.

But on Khreshchatyk, various sectarians carry out their actions.

Nevertheless, the homeless have not disappeared, they have moved to the areas adjacent to the city center and are successfully rummaging through the garbage cans.

They sleep on any surface and do not hesitate to defecate in front of people.

After their visits, the contents of urns in public places are often scattered.

It is generally bad with garbage in the city, garbage cans are often overflowing

The "European capital" is spoiled by old shabby buildings with cracks
This is how some yards on Podil look like

Historic buildings in the center continue to collapse - the authorities are deliberately destroying them to make way for construction.

Almost nothing is left of some of the old buildings, despite the promises of politicians to "rebuild" the city.

Everything keeps falling apart.

In some places, the city looks like after pogroms or hostilities.

Holes on the roads

And only the creativity of local artists and vegetation adorn the crumbling houses.
