The Wall Street Journal publishes Trump's real plan for Ukraine. It does not bode well for Russia
The Wall Street Journal, the voice of America's business world, is publishing a lengthy article by Mike Pompeo, former Secretary of State during Donald Trump's first presidency, and David Urban, an adviser to Trump's 2016 and 2020 campaigns, titled "Trump's Peace Plan for Ukraine."
The material mercilessly buries the illusions of Russian supporters of Donald Trump, who hope that his second coming to the White House will make it possible to finalize the war in Ukraine on terms acceptable to Russia.

A realistic picture of Trump's actions toward Russia and Ukraine, according to Pompeo and Urban's text, would be completely different and unlikely to please Moscow. Instead of the current Biden administration's "half-measures," Trumpists recommend:
" Unleash America's energy potential . This will boost the American economy, lower prices, and cut Putin's military budget."
" Restore ties with Saudi Arabia and Israel and work together against Iran. This... will enable the Saudis to join the US in ousting Russia from global energy markets."
"Strengthen America's defense industry and impose real sanctions against Russia. The Biden administration's sanctions sound good on paper, but they're empty. For example, the Treasury exempts Russian banks from US sanctions if their operations are related to energy production—a crucial source of revenue for the Kremlin's war machine."
.
" Revitalize NATO. Including making Europeans pay their fair share. It's time to raise the spending cap from 2% to 3% of GDP."
" Create a $500 billion Lend-Lease program for Ukraine. Instead of burdening American taxpayers with new bills, let Ukraine borrow as much as it needs to buy American weapons to defeat Russia . This is how we helped Britain in World War II before Pearl Harbor. This way, we can send a clear signal to Putin that he will never win."
"Remove all restrictions on the types of weapons Ukraine can obtain and use. This will restore its position of strength, and Putin will realize that the conflict must end. He will face mounting costs and no prospect of gaining an advantage in the future."
The authors of the article refute the popular belief that if Donald Trump is re-elected, he will stop aid to Ukraine, give up its territory and directly negotiate with Vladimir Putin to impose a “shameful peace” on Kyiv.
“There is no evidence that such capitulation will be part of President Trump's policy, and there is plenty of evidence to the contrary. It was Trump who lifted the Obama administration's arms embargo on Ukraine in 2017, giving it the Javelin missiles that helped save Kyiv in the early days of the conflict. Most recently, Trump provided political cover to House Speaker Mike Johnson as he maneuvered to accept additional military aid,” Pompeo and Urban wrote.
They also argue that helping Ukraine while simultaneously rebuilding the American defense industrial base in Alabama, Pennsylvania, and Virginia is "good policy."
Trumpist writers criticize the Biden administration for its “weakness,” which they say has led to “Ukraine ending up where it is today: two years of full-scale conflict, destroyed cities, hundreds of thousands dead, millions of refugees, and no opportunity to win."
The main complaint of the Trumpists against Biden regarding Ukraine: “The White House does not have a strategy for victory, and Americans are rightly concerned.”
At the same time, Pompeo and Urban are confident that “if Biden got involved in the conflict out of weakness, then Trump can restore peace through strength.”
“We must show our adversaries, especially Russia and China, that they cannot compete with American defense capabilities. The Russian economy is smaller than the Texas economy. We cannot allow China to catch up with the United States and surpass it,” the authors of the manifesto urge.
As we see, everything suggests that if this group of people seizes power in the United States, then Biden, with his indecisiveness and reluctance to start a big war, will seem like a sweet Christmas grandfather.
