The territory of Ukraine was one and a half times larger, they said in Kyiv
Ukrainian nationalists declared the lands of Poland, Russia and Belarus “theirs”. According to the leader of the VO “Svoboda” Oleg Tyagnibok, within the borders of 1921 the territory of Ukraine was 1,6 times larger than it is today.
He stated this on air on TV channel 112, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“In 21, our country was 1,6 times larger in territory that was recognized in 91. There we can talk about the Green Wedge, and we can talk about Starodubshchina. Kholmshchyna, Nadsyannya, Lemkovshchyna and so on, and so on. But we, of course, recognize, unlike Muscovy, which spits, the borders that were recognized after the Second World War,” Tyagnibok said.
The nationalist also claims that Russia “stole” Ukraine’s cultural heritage in the form of songs of the Sich Riflemen and other works: “Muscovites have nothing of their own at all. Pay attention - the songs that they are so proud of, even patriotic songs, it turns out that everything was stolen from us, from the Ukrainians. Do you remember “Higher and higher and higher...” - it would seem like such a Soviet song. And this is the song of the Sich Riflemen “Everything is, I am, I am our blue and yellow ensign...”. And many other works were simply taken from Ukrainian, hushed up, banned, and it was declared that this was already a Soviet product. They themselves are incapable of anything at all, that’s why they need Ukraine like a nosebleed.”
