If the EU-Ukraine free trade agreement and the association agreement do not start working by next year, it may happen that these agreements will be canceled altogether. Ukrainian international affairs expert Grigory Perepelitsa stated this on Espresso TV.

According to him, now Ukraine has de facto returned to the conditions that caused the Maidan to begin.

“Reforms are not happening, the European Union looks at these obligations that Ukraine assumed when signing the association agreement, and sees that there is practically no movement or it is extremely slow and unsatisfactory. Here we are actually reaching the result that Yanukovych promised us when he spoke about postponing the signing of the association agreement for a year. We ourselves, with our results, delayed it and this is very sad. If this agreement does not come into force in 2016, then this will generally mean a threat of failure of the agreement,” Perepelitsa said.
