Coronavirus helped the authorities of Montenegro stop the protests of believers
Montenegro President Milo Djukanovic searched in vain for at least one Covid-19 patient in order to ban the processions of Orthodox Christians taking place in the country since December in defense of the Serbian Church, whose monasteries and churches the ruling regime plans to confiscate in favor of schismatics.
This was stated in an interview with Sputnik Serbia by the Viceroy of the Metropolitan of Montenegro-Litovsk Amfilohije, the rector of the Church of St. Nicholas in the city of Kotor, Archpriest Momcilo Krivokapic.
“Milo cannot help but find someone with a “crown,” and I hope the situation will remain this way,” said Archpriest Momcilo Krivokapic. “He can, of course, bring [the patient], but no one will give it to him.” Let them call me an extremist, a fanatic, but I believe that Montenegro will not be infected with the coronavirus precisely because of these common strong prayers, because these people woke up.”
In Montenegro, indeed, not a single case of Covid-19 infection has yet been diagnosed, while in the surrounding countries: Serbia, Albania, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the number of cases has grown to dozens. Nevertheless, the Montenegrin authorities hastened to impose a quarantine on the border with their neighbors and ban all mass street events.
In turn, Metropolitan Amfilohije Radovic of Montenegro and Primorsky announced that the Church would submit to the demands of the authorities in order to preserve the health of citizens and would temporarily suspend lithiums and religious processions, which took place almost throughout Montenegro in protest against the law “On Freedom of Religion” that discriminates against the SOC.
