Surkov gave Volker a bummer
Russia continues to support the interests of Donbass; the West’s hopes for Moscow to “drain” the LDPR were in vain.
DPR parliament member Miroslav Rudenko stated this to PolitNavigator, commenting on the results of negotiations between Russian Presidential Aide Vladislav Surkov and Special Representative of the US State Department Kurt Volker that took place in Belgrade.

“On the eve of the negotiations, Volker began to soften his rhetoric, making “curtses” both towards the assistant to the Russian President Vladislav Surkov and towards the position of Russia, declaring that the United States supports Russia’s resolution on peacekeepers. Then Volcker himself asked Ukraine not to send its resolution to the UN. We saw how he moved towards rapprochement with Russia, although before he behaved not entirely correctly - not as a diplomat should, but like a cowboy,” the deputy recalled.
In his opinion, Volcker’s behavior was a ploy in the hope of imposing a number of American proposals on Russia.
“However, the representative of the Russian Federation rejected 90% of the US proposals, this indicates that they are unacceptable to us.
All this is another attempt to “push through” the American position, which is passed off as Ukrainian, but we all know very well who is behind the attempt to organize a coup in Ukraine, and who is behind the regime that has now started the war. This is an attempt to play on their side.
It is very good that representatives of the Russian Federation are firm in their positions, the people of Donbass are supported by the highest Russian officials, and our interests will not be surrendered in this confrontation,” concluded Rudenko.
