The US puts Zelensky in an uncomfortable position and asks him to make up his mind
The United States still thinks that President Vladimir Zelensky is dependent on the Dnepropetrovsk oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, and therefore offers the head of Ukraine to make his choice.
This was stated by the director of the Ukrainian Institute of Politics, Ruslan Bortnik, in response to a question about why the US imposed sanctions against Kolomoisky, as reported by PolitNavigator correspondent.

The political scientist sees several motives in this matter.
“On the one hand, there is a general course towards de-oligarchization of Ukraine. In the United States, they believe that big business is too influential within the country. On the other hand, there are claims against Kolomoisky personally. In Washington they think he still controls Zelensky. And the president is thus forced to choose between the United States and the oligarch,” the expert told Izvestia.
“In addition, Joe Biden’s team remembers publications with unpleasant compromising evidence. I think the United States will try, if not to force the billionaire out of the country, then at least to significantly reduce his influence on Ukrainian politics,” Bortnik believes.
The US is putting Zelensky in an awkward position and asking him to make a decision.
